Level 1 Guac

Holy moly, I love guacamole. Only those who truly understand the versatility of guacamole are able to appreciate and love it as much as I do. Guacamole is not simply a dip that you bring with you to the super bowl party. It isn’t solely meant for Mexican themed meals, nor is bound by spicy flavors. Because I love guacamole so much and make so many different variations of it, I decided to turn guac into a series of posts. I know what you’re thinking, this chick is down right insane, and she is going to die a guacamole induced death one day. IT’S TRUE I’M OBSESSED!

I called this post Level 1 Guacamole because it is has few ingredients, is easy to make, and isn’t as crazy as next level as some of the guac recipes to come. Clay will eat this guac because there isn’t any spice to it, it is more sweet and lime based. This guac is great if you want to add avocado to your dish but also want a smoother texture. We add this guac to our greek themed bowls, we also love it in turkey wraps or sandwiches, as a snack this guac can be used as a dip with cucumber slices. I love how it adds just a hint of freshness to anything I toss it into. Anyway…. I could dedicate a blog solely to guacamole and go on forever, but here is the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 large haas avocado

  • 1/4 cup lime juice

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro

  • 1 finely diced clove garlic

  • 1/8 cup white onion

  • 1/8 cup red onion

  • salt and garlic salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut avocado into large chunks, making sure to remove the pit and skin.

  2. In a dope mortar bowl that your hot husband got you for Christmas combine all of the chopped ingredients.

  3. Using the pestle, a fork, or a finger with a lot of aggression. Mix and mash the ingredients together.

  4. Add more salt or garlic salt based on your taste preferences.
