Jerry's Special Day With Mama

Once in a blue moon Clay will have to work on Saturday and I will have the day off. This means from 10AM until 3PM, Jerry and his mama have the entire day to paint the town together. In my humble opinion Saturday walks with Jerry are best spent in the most unfashionable way possible, translation, crocs with socks. Days like this are so therapeutic and chill after a long work week. When Clay and I got a dog I had no idea that my little pal Jer would bring so much joy to each day. But I love when I get to spend a full day giving Jerry extra attention and love.

Jerry has this instant lovability and when you see him on the street you can’t help but smile. My favorite thing in the entire world is taking Jerry on really long walks around town. His little legs move 30-50 miles per hour and he loves to sniff every single thing in sight. He gets so excited to meet new people, see new places, and he loves being outdoors. We always always always get stopped by people on the street. It is the most hilarious interaction every single time. Jerry loses his mind. It almost looks like an out of body spasm is happening. He starts to take circle laps around the person, jump up and down, and a noise resembling a pig sequel starts to come out of him. It is impossible to not have a smile on your face or just start busting up laughing when you see it in real time. Imagine getting to take Jerry on a walk and see this whole thing go down five or six times in one day.

I love Saturdays spent with Jerry because there is no drama, stress, obligations, and we literally don’t have to do anything. I can put on my crocs, but keep my socks on because my feet are always cold. Then we can just have a chill day waiting for Clay to get home. Also look at his cute face and tell me that you wouldn’t want to spend the whole day with this precious angel.
